Paperwork: The Essentials


Getting a mortgage approved quickly requires your involvement. Bringing these important documents with you to your meeting with me will help speed the process along. If you have any questions about these, or other documents, please email me at JLake@1stHomeMortgage.com or call me at 847-394-5300.

1. Sales contract on the purchase of your new home, If applicable
2. Paystubs for last 30 days showing YTD earnings, name and social security #
3. Last two years of W-2s
4. Most recent two years tax returns with all schedules
5. Year-to-date P&L statement and current balance sheet, if self-employed
6. Most recent 3 months bank statements on all checking, savings, CDs, IRA accounts etc.
7. Current landlord's name & address and 12 months cancelled rent checks
8. Copy of sales contract, if you are selling your present home
9. Complete divorce papers, if you pay/receive child support or alimony
10. Relocation agreement, if you are being transferred into this area
11. Bankruptcy papers, including discharge papers, if applicable
12. Award letter and copy of most recent check, if you receive Social Security/retirement etc.
13. Name and phone number of realtor and attorney
14. A check for the appraisal and credit report costs
